Mom and babies just left the nest behind the rock. I had to amplify the "cheeping".

Big Babies

2 moms and 12 babies. They get together for better survival.

The mom made warning 1 "pit" and they flew. Probably saw a hawk. They will land in trees. Good survival skill!

They form big "flocks" in the winter. They love the post oak acorns in the yard- and seed!.

If they eat late afternoon, they then head for big trees along the creek to roost.

Curious behavior...

2020 mom/baby("BJ") - very possessive of food when the 2 first arrived.

"BJ" and 2nd mom with 4 babies. We called them "2-5"

"2-5" 7 weeks later. Big birds now...
