Photo Number 1. We identified him by his awsome song!
We called him "CW". He slept mostly on this fan in the garage for 7 yrs.
CANW are specialized for crevices.
There are lots of dead trees and bulldozed piles are a favorate foraging habitat.
Rock walls and piles also provide food.
Two eating at a wasp nest.
The first CANW nest at our place- in the "shop cave".
New nest box with game camera we put up in the shop. This box has been used every year.
He brings food while she is sitting on eggs.
Babies are usually born over a 2 day period.
He brings food for babies and gives it to her if she is there.
Choir practice...
Big babies!
Ready to go...
A nest built on CW's fan. One of these was the male that took over when he died.
Seeing the world for the first time!
Photogenic babies.
CW always led his babies to sleep on this barn beam. Got to see him do it once.
This group slept here 2 nights. These were the only ones to do this over 10 years.
They rarely drink water. Bugs are juicy enough...
Sunning to get rid of bugs.
We have had 4 males and 4 females over 15 years. "Misty" lived to 7.5 years.
Beautiful Melody!
